Altar Working System
SYSTEM OWNER: Petra Davis
PURPOSE & SCOPE:
This system details how we pray with people in the Altar. Our goal is to have prayer team members of a variety of age groups, male and female, and ethnicity to pray with people at the Altar. Our goal is to pray for and with people, and help them to draw closer to God and activate their faith.

As an essential part of theCrossroads Leadership family, you have a responsibility to develop and exhibit mature Christian behavior. This should be the basic premise of your desire to participate in a servant-leader position here at theCrossroads. While serving the Body of Christ as a servant-leader with theCrossroads, you pledge to always present a modest and Godly appearance. In both attire and behavior, you should strive to demonstrate biblical standards in all situations.
As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ but should exemplify the best qualities of a mature believer and servant-leader. Exemplifying the highest moral commitment, leaders of theCrossroads are to maintain a disciplined life of Bible reading, prayer, and fasting. You must also refrain from such things as:
By providing an example in speech and action, we encourage others to grow in Christ and become servant-leaders themselves. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each leader in theCrossroads Church Leadership family. We should regard it as an essential part of our development, not as an imposition or restriction.
EXPECTATIONS:
PROCESS
11. Once they have repented out loud, continue to encourage them to keep repenting. Then thank God for the freedom and forgiveness they feel.
12. If they start speaking in Tongues, praise God with them until they finish speaking. Then encourage them by saying." This is the Spirit of God on you right
now."
13. If they don't speak in Tongues, but they continue in repenting, stop them after a few minutes.
14. Tell them, "Boy I feel better now, how about you?
15. If they are hesitant, then ask them if there is anything else they need to repent for, then act accordingly.
16. When they finish (be sensitive to their demeanor), tell them "I feel so much better, don't you?" If they spoke in Tongues, ask them if they heard the words.
17. Don't tell them that they have spoken in Tonques, let them realize that on their own. If they say yes, ask if they understood the words. It may take people a few minutes to understand, or have to speak in tongues a few times to realize what happened.
18. Whatever happens, follow up with them.
20. Set up a meeting with them that week, after you explain the book to them. Give them a date and time that you will call them.
21. Meet every week and go through the book with them. Share Scriptures that set you free to be who God intended you to be. Share your responses to questions with them.
22. Stay positive!
23. Help them to take their next step:
a. Growth Track, Small Groups
b. Keep the relationship going.
c. Pray for them and encourage them!

- Love Jesus with all their heart, have been baptized in Jesus Name, and filled with the Holy Ghost.
- Love our Pastor and first Lady wholeheartedly.
- Love theCrossroads and be faithful to the church body.
- Have faith and believe that God is able and willing.
- All members will receive and sign theCrossroads Leadership Honor Code as outlined (below).

- Profanity
- Smoking or chewing tobacco
- Gambling
- Indulging in wine or other alcoholic beverages
- Dishonest gain
- Illicit drugs
- Pornography
- Sexual immorality (sexual activity outside of marriage)
- All behaviors which might cause Christ to grieve and others to stumble

- All Members will attend in person or virtual training.
- All Members will be trained to respond to the schedule of the Planning Center, either to accept or to decline.
- All Members scheduled to be Altar workers for the service will arrive 30 minutes before service and tag in with the system owner 10 minutes prior to Service
start.
PROCESS
- Pastor or Speaker mentions the Altar.
- Altar Team/Campus Hosts come to the front of the congregation.
- Guest or member walks down to the front, or steps out into the aisle toward the front..give them the proper space, but follow God's lead and pray with them.
- (If appropriate..) Trained Altar Worker introduces themselves to guests and learns their name
- Ask the question- "If God was to do a miracle in your life, what would it be? - Find out something specific to pray for them.
- Pray with them sincerely.
- If they respond and are visible moved, ask them: "Would you like to experience more of God in your life today?"
- If they say Yes, step 9. If they say No, tell them what a great step it was for them to take today in trusting God to work on their behalf. It took a lot of courage for you to step out today. God will honor your sincerity and faith today. Be sensitive to God and them.
- Ask them if you can lead them in a prayer of repentance. If yes, remind them to pray with you, speaking out loud using their own words.

- Write 2 points of contact in the book: example: cell number, e-mail, Facebook, Instagram, and include your name.
