With an emphasis on the smooth operation of audio & sound technology, this system is purposed to facilitate an atmosphere in which church members can be easily involved in all aspects of the worship service, free of distractions.

Procedure:
  1. All members of this system will receive extensive training prior to becoming involved in the operation of all audio & sound technology.
  2. The audio & sound systems owner will ensure that new members will have at least one mentor in their area of operations, that will provide continued guidance as new members orient to the system.
  3. Members will participate in ongoing, on the job training (as needed), to ensure working knowledge of all equipment.
  4. Members will respond to Planning Center Online (PCO) scheduling requests, to indicate whether or not they will be able to participate in upcoming worship services.
  5. Members scheduled to operate equipment for a particular service, will be present during all choir & praise team practices, as well as for other rehearsals (as specified by the Lead Pastor).
  6. If a member is unable to attend a rehearsal for which they are responsible for attending, the member will notify the systems owner in order to find a replacement.
  7. Members will not operate video/audio technology for a service he or she was not present at rehearsals for.
  8. Members will be responsible for turning off all equipment as specified by the systems owner, at the end of services.
  9. Members will notify the systems owner of challenges & barriers that threaten the effective operation of all equipment immediately when these challenges/barriers occur.
  10. Members will work closely with the Lead Pastor, praise team leader, & band members to ensure audio & sound equipment is effective, during rehearsals.
  11. Members will be in their designated areas at least 15 minutes prior to the start of service.
  12. Members will be attentive to agreed upon cues from the Lead Pastor, praise team members, & others operating in a platform ministry, throughout the worship service.

Operation Instructions & Expectations

Review the Sound Booth System for instructions on how to turn sound equipment on.

During the Service:

Select the SHOW needed for the specific service you are assisting with. Select the “WORSHIP SHOW.” If the choir is singing, wait until all choir members are in place on the platform, before selecting “CHOIR SHOW.”

Listen for anyone (singer or musician) whose volume may be overpowering and adjust their volume accordingly. Also, adjust singers/musicians that are more difficult to hear.

Adjust controls to ensure that all voices are blending together.

Make sure that you can hear the keyboard, drums, congas and guitars and that no instruments dominate the overall sound.

Monitor Controls:

Sanctuary Monitors are the three white monitors directed at the audience.  “Slide Controls” control what is heard (volume, mix, etc.) in the sanctuary/congregation.

Vocal Monitors are the two white monitors directed at the praise team and platform.  You can control volume, mix, etc. from these monitors, using the “Vocal Monitor Control.”

Music Monitors are the black monitors located on the platform. Control volume, mix, etc. using the “Music Monitor Control.”

The Main slide located on the right of your control board controls the overall volume.  This will turn everything (singers/band, etc.) up or down.  All other controls adjust sound individually.

You can control each individual microphone or instrument as needed.

End of Service:

Review the Sound Booth System for instructions on how to turn off all equipment. Turn off all equipment at the end of service.
