Campus Host System

Purpose/Scope:
  • This system is to help make our guests feel welcome and begin to make good connections with the Crossroads family. We don’t want anyone to feel alone or ignored before, during, or after the service.
  • Acts 4:36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, the son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, (Joses) born in Cyrus, name changed to Barnabas because he was an encourager. Acts 9 Barnabas believed in Saul/Paul and took him to the other disciples. This is the idea behind what a campus host does.
  • We need people who like to help make our members and guests feel welcome and be there to encourage them to take the next steps.

Procedure:
  • Service Hosts need to arrive at least 90 minutes before Sunday service begins and start coffee preparations. (See Coffee Prep System).
  • Pray with the F.I.T.  Team at scheduled Tag-in. 
  • Need to be outgoing, energetic, and happy.
  • Familiarize yourself with upcoming church events (church calendar on app).
  • Sit in a specific section at least 15 minutes before service.
  • Introduce yourself to the guest(s). Speak to them with a smile and “Love” on them.
  • Have a “Low Impact Conversation”.  Ask - Have you met Pastor? You are going to love them. They will want to meet with you after service and have a gift for you, just for coming today.
  • If the guest visibly responds during the service or at altar call, go pray with them tactfully. Use wisdom and allow the Holy Ghost to lead you.
  • At the end of service, the campus host or hostess will escort their guest directly to the Guest Reception area and introduce them by name.
  • When there is a 2nd Service, the Campus Hosts only need to arrive at least 60 minutes before the second service and help with coffee etc. as 1st services guests are leaving. 2nd Service Campus Hosts only, will follow the same steps as above, then help with coffee clean up as needed.
