Candidates must wholeheartedly embrace and teach the Articles of Faith of the United Pentecostal Church International, including:
- The Oneness of God. There is one God, who revealed Himself as Father in creation, in the Son for our redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in our regeneration. Jesus Christ is the one true God manifested in flesh (John 1:1–14; 1 Timothy 3:16; Colossians 2:9).
- The new birth. Salvation by grace through faith, obeyed through repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:38).
- The Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for faith and life.
- Holiness of heart and life, according to the pattern of Scripture and the UPCI Articles of Faith.
