Livestream System

System Owner: Ashton Dummitt

Purpose: The purpose of this system is to make sure that our livestream runs properly and provides a pleasant experience for those that watch.

Procedure:
  • Our Livestream equipment will already be turned on by the time you get there as the person running ProPresenter must turn it on prior to turning on their system.
  • You will need to make sure that the cameras are set to the proper angles and that Ecamm Live has been turned on.
  • Start the livestream on Ecamm Live when there is 30 seconds left on the countdown by pressing the go live button.
  • At the end of service you will need to end broadcast in Ecamm Live.
  • You will need to turn off the Black Magic box by flipping the red switch on the bottom left.
  • You will need to shut down ATEM and Ecamm and shut down the computers.
  • You will need to make sure both projectors are turned off.

During Worship:
  • You will need to change angles and make sure that everyone gets a chance to be on camera.
  • Try not to focus on one person for too long.
  • Try to get close ups of people who are singing solos.
  • Getting a shot of the audience occasionally would be nice if you can tell that there are a lot of people worshiping.

During Preaching:
  • Use camera one to have a close shot that you can follow the speaker with.
  • Use camera two to leave a wide angle that you can flip to in order to adjust other shots.
  • Use camera three to get interesting side shots especially if the speaker is looking that direction.
  • Try not to stay on one shot for too long.
  • Switch to a wide shot when there is something showing in the lower third so that it isn’t blocking the speaker. This can be done with either camera two or three.

During Altar Call:
  • You can continue to focus on the speaker if they are up there.
  • If the speaker is not up there then you can focus on the singers.

During a Baptism:
  • You can switch to camera four which is the Baptistry Camera.
  • You will need to make sure that the Aux on the Black Magic box is switched to four so that the front projector will display the Baptistry Camera instead of the ProPresenter display.
  • Switch the Aux back to six after the baptism to show what is on ProPresenter again

Camera Setup:
  • You can use the menu button to change the settings on the cameras
  • Try to have it set to 4.8 or 5.6 and then 16-22db this will help the people to not appear so bright on the cameras. This may need to be adjusted during the service depending on who is speaking and what color the lights are.
  • You can set the white balance to Indr.
  • You want to set the aperture to 9-11 so that it helps the wall tiles to not appear sparkly.
  • You can adjust the camera speed to whatever you are comfortable with. I usually suggest 37% cause if you use 25% it can be hard to follow the person speaking. If you are comfortable using a faster speed you are welcome to do so.

Using the Controller:
  • When using the controller you will use the bottom row of numbers.
  • The numbers 1, 2, and 3 all relate to the cameras.
  • One is typically the close up shot.
  • Two is typically the wide shot.
  • Three is the side angle shot.
  • The number 4 is the Baptistry Camera
  • The number 6 is ProPresenter
  • On the right side you have the transitions.
  • FTB is Fade To Black. You can use this at the end of a service before ending the livestream.
  • Cut will immediately switch to whatever camera you have selected.
  • Auto will fade from whatever camera you are currently using to whatever camera you are switching to. This is the one you will use most of the time.
  • Aux Key 1 is on the top right and having it selected will display the lower thirds. This is used during worship to show words and during the preaching to show verses.
