Youth Class/Small Group System

System Owner:  Jonathan and Sheila Morales

Youth Classes/Small Group is available every week, where we are currently covering material from God’s Word for Life. This is a study that goes over the whole Bible. It comes with different options to customize the lesson to what you think will work best. You just pick the options you want and it’s straight forward from there.
Right now, pastor would like for these small groups to continue to be every Wednesday evening at 7pm as they have been.  In 2022 we will also continue with Wednesday evening EXCEPT for the 1st Wednesday of each month where EVERYONE will meet in the sanctuary.
This is definitely a more casual setting than Youth Services so please encourage them to bring friends with them.  Soon we will be able to use the coffee shop for these meetings.  Right now, we meet in the Fellowship Hall.  16 and up in the main area and 15 and younger in Classroom B or split boys and girls or you may choose to keep everyone together in the main area.

Preparation
1. Study the lesson for each week. The lessons usually include different options to pick from as far as games or activities go. Some lessons are more focused on discussion and prayer. Studying over the material will help you plan which path to take and get any necessary supplies.
Promotion
1. A social media post can be made about the upcoming topic with a graphic. Sometimes there are videos that come with the lesson and those can be posted. This should be done on Thursday or Friday for the following Wednesday's class.
2. A reminder should be sent out the day before or the day of the meeting. If there are any changes to the meeting location or time, make everyone aware.
Day of Event
1. The Youth Class can be split into two groups based on age: 15 and younger & 16 and older.  Alternatively, you could split based on gender.  Or set up enough chairs to keep everyone together in the main area. There are plenty of Bibles available for anyone to use, if they don’t have their own.
2. Follow the plan you made during your preparation.
3. Clean up the area afterwards.  Chairs and tables need to be put away.  Vacuum where needed.  Lights off.  Air/Heat reset. Lock the fellowship hall door from the outside by pushing the lock button.  Do NOT turn the knob on the inside of the door.

Acknowledge This system has been reviewed with me and I have had an opportunity to ask questions and discuss pertinent details. I understand my role on the team.  Background checks are only required if over 18 years of age.  If you are over 18, we will order a background check.
