Youth Service System

System Owner:  John Wayne Hansbro

Youth service is a combination of a church service and a night of fellowship. The youth lead the service with some guidance and direction from the adult leaders. This is a great opportunity for the teens to minister through worship, preaching and production. Youth services are a great time to use for training teens to minister in a live service without the pressure of Sunday service. This is a time for the youth group to invite their friends and family to come as they have the opportunity to minister. This is an open event for everyone in the church to come to.
Preparation
1. Gather the following information so that an event can be created in the church app.
• Date and time
• Basic description of service and fellowship afterwards.
• Graphic
2. Be sure that the event is placed on both the Youth Calendar and the Church Calendar.
3. Choose the speakers.
• 1-2 youth (5-10 minutes each)
• 1 adult (10-15 minutes)
4. Choose the topic/theme.
• Sometimes the teens already have something on their heart they want to share. That is totally fine.
5. Choose the worship set (1-2 songs). Make sure this is communicated at least one full week ahead of the youth service to give everyone enough time to practice and prepare. Allow the youth to have a say in what songs they are comfortable with playing and singing.
6. Food and games will need to be planned out during ahead of time.
7. During the youth service, the adults serve in all the other behind the scenes roles needed such as ProPresenter, sound, live stream, and photography. These roles will need to be scheduled.  This allows the teens not on the platform, to be able to be examples and be involved in the worship time.
Promotion
1. A reminder to the whole church to come and support the youth will need to be sent out a week prior to the service. Remember: the church service is for everyone; the food and games afterward are for the youth.
2. Encourage the teens to invite their friends and family to come to the service.
Day of Event
1. A youth service is very similar to a traditional church service. Here is a template for the service schedule:
• Countdown / Preroll
• Welcome / Opening Prayer
• Worship Service (1-2 songs)
• Preaching (Done by teen(s) followed by an adult)
• Altar Call (Adults should play and sing to allow teens to be in the altar.)
• Closing Announcements / Prayer
2.  Make sure the church is locked up and all lights are off.
3. Once the service is over, we proceed with the social part of the night. This includes food and games and activities for all the teens to have fun and hang out.
4. Parents will need to be notified when this is over so they can pick up their teen. Some of the teens may need special arrangements to get back home.  Be clear on the ending time so that parents will know when to pick up their teens.  Also, the parents waiting for their teens to be brought home, will know when to expect them home.

Acknowledge This system has been reviewed with me and I have had an opportunity to ask questions and discuss pertinent details. I understand my role on the team.  Background checks are only required if over 18 years of age.  If you are over 18, we will order a background check.
